This week we hosted the first of our 2015 Club events at London’s May Fair Hotel with a panel of leading senior business leaders. The topic: “Raising the profile of marketing” caught fire with our audience of over 250 movers and shakers from the UK marketing community.

 Martin Glenn, CEO, United Biscuits; David Wheldon, Head of Brand, Reputation and Citizenship, Barclays Group; Peter Markey, CMO, Post Office; and Debbie Klein, CEO, Engine Group were all on stage, agreeing and clashing with each other’s views.

But all agreed: the boardroom door is open and marketers are invited to step in.

Oystercatchers’ CEO, Suki Thompson who led the discussion, succinctly summed up, “Successful brands keep the customer at the heart of their business and, as a result, the opportunities for marketers to take their seat on the board have never been richer”.
